This publication illustrates examples and suggests an approach individual schools can use to assess their own design and technology accommodation requirements. Sections 1 and 2 give a guide to the number, type, and size of teaching spaces that are likely to be required, and describes the range of non-teaching support spaces, outlining key points to consider when planning the overall suite of spaces; and provide furnished layouts of typical specialist rooms. Section 3 provides detailed information on both teaching and non-teaching support spaces. Section 4 offers advice on the most typical furniture used in design and technology spaces. Section 5 describes typical workshop equipment and guidance on their accommodation needs. Section 6 outlines key points about servicing design and technology spaces.
